Boundaries question
Nov. 9th, 2022 10:42 pmI just had my last tutoring session with a seven-year-old kid who has been with me for about a year, and gone from not reading to reading well. He has also had a year of school in that time, including summer school, but his mom gives me a lot of the credit for his progress. He gave me an African violet and a funny card, and told me to follow his instagram.
I wasn't sure he had an instagram, since he tells me lots of things, many of which are not true; but when his mom came to pick him up she said that the instagram handle he wrote down for me is his.
I am very fond of this kid. I'll never post anything on my instagram that is not safe for seven-year-olds. Still, it feels very weird to follow a young child who is not related to me on social media. Probably shouldn't, right? Don't cross the streams!
