Storytelling party did not work. A few people came, and it was quiet and pleasant, but it was not a storytelling party. I took all the food down to the lobby, where everyone was.

Perhaps, should you attempt this again, you might try recruiting some charismatic ringers in advance.

Yes. I knew I didn't have enough charisma to make it work, but I thought storytelling was popular enough to draw people in.

I wouldn't have know that you would be insufficient draw: you have many strong relationships there and people who want to spend time with you.

It was still a pleasant place to be for a while. Also next year might work better, as the membership may get a big boost for the number ending in zero.
