Met someone on the way. I pulled my dogs in, of course, but she stopped and said, "I bet they're good dogs." They're very good, I assured her, so she patted them and told me she was ninety, though one of her knees was only a year old, and she walked around this block five times every day.

It is that part of my library that has migrated to the new house. Husband keeps offering to bring more books/shelves from the old house, but I see all this new wallspace as an opportunity to acquire MORE MORE MORE books.

There was this curate, whose position was like a grad student: he does the work, his superior takes the credit, his remuneration and his future prospects all depend on his superior's goodwill. So, this curate was eating breakfast at his superior's house. The superior says, "I'm afraid you've got a bad egg." The curate says, "Oh, no, I assure you! Parts of it are excellent!"
