I do seem to have more energy right now. My daughter and I are decluttering my house, which takes a tremendous amount of energy: the regrets are even more tiring than the dust. I went through a box of baby books, for example, and took a bunch that were still nice enough to give to my boss, who has a baby and doesn't have a close relationship with her family of origin. It was good to give, and good to remember sharing them with my own children, but I also had to remember how much I wanted another baby then, and how much I want a grandchild now.

I signed up for some reading challenges, and for Get Your Words Out. I want to do those things but they don't feel like "an ambitious plan to carry out an idealistic yet practical project." I think my idealistic yet practical project is just tending my garden.

What I dislike about most of the 'decluttering suggestions' I see is the failure to recognize the emotional strain. I can clean my house up pretty fast but while I'm not an overly sentimental person there are things that should be gone from my house I'm not sure I can part with.
