Is Teak's birthday! He is 29. His mother and our other mare both made it past 30. I do have pictures of him on his actual birth day, but only as prints.

Do horses fur get curlier and thicker as they age? (This seems to be a canine tendency. Humans, OTOH, just lose our fur.)

Curlier, thicker fur is a symptom of hypothyroidism in horses. Yes, hypo- not hyper-. It's common in old Morgan horses. I don't know whether Morgans are more likely to develop hypothyroidism as they age, or just more likely to get very old!
