Called Senator Bennet to object to his statement that Trump's next Supreme Court nominee should be a centrist, and to ask him to do everything in his power to block a hearing until January, because justice demands that the one who stole a seat should not be rewarded with another. Called Senator Gardner to ask for the same, because “Our next election is too soon and the stakes are too high; the American people deserve a role in this process as the next Supreme Court Justice will influence the direction of this country for years to come.” Yeah, I quoted back what he said about refusing to meet Merrick Garland. He's a giant flaming cesspool of hypocrisy though.

Why TF does he keep getting listed as relatively centrist? Just that the Republican legislators are in general fanatics or lickspittles, so far as I can tell, plus he believes in global warming.

I hadn't heard the Bennet quote, which makes me sad.

When I phoned the Senators I asked them to refuse a vote for Trump's nominee unless it was Merrick Garland. I have asked the President of all of us to nominate Merrick Garland.
