Aiko was on Rimadyl for his arthritis and Apoquel for his allergies, but both those medicine can have a side effect of suppressing platelets. His platelets were a little low, but just a little, so we were just checking them every six months.

Now he has a hematoma in his ear -- that's what the pressure bandage and cone are for -- and he's off Apoquel and on Cytopoint, which is an injection. I have to take him to the vet every six to eight weeks. His size means he needs a double dose, so it's $228 for the drug. I don't know if she's going to charge me an office visit every time, or if the vet techs can do it.

Very happy to be home! I had to leave him at the vet for a couple hours.

He is a pretty dog. He gets compliments every time I walk him.
