The Frame

I just saw The Frame with my husband and his girlfriend. Very beautiful, and strange, and relevant to the interests of anyone who has loved a tv show so much that it became real. See it if you get the chance.

It made me think of The Velveteen Rabbit, of course. And the Laurie Anderson song where Laurie sees God, and

Intriguing! The message sounds relevant to my interest, but I have questions about the medium. The trailer makes heavy use of jump cuts and strobing lights -- is this also true in the movie? I think I saw some automatic weapons in the trailer: would you classify it as an action picture? Blood & guts?

There are lots of jump cuts and probably (they don't bother me, so I don't notice them when I fall in to the story) strobes in the movie. There is a crime/action TV show inside the movie; if it were a real TV show it would probably be too violent for me. So I'll retract my recommendation, unless those things bother you less when it's on a DVD that you can pause whenever it bothers you.
