Five times Fraser said no, by [personal profile] china_shop. Rated General Audiences. RayK/Fraser.

Your comments feed my hungry heart. I do not wish to dissuade you from praise, but I am trying to get better at this, so constructive criticism is also welcome.

You sound slightly tense in the reading in the narration parts. It seems like to me that you are more relaxed when you are doing the dialogue parts. Also it sounds like a pet gets up and makes noise at about 2:15. I can also hear the computer fan, but I have no idea what one could do about that as I assume that you are recording this using a computer.

You might try recording the same piece or section over and over as a technique to make yourself more comfortable with reading aloud.

I like the subtle and distinctive ways you alter your voice to match Ray's & Fraser's voice patterns. (Great Canadian "oh" sound on the final "no"s!)

The pauses between the sections are just the right length.

I agree that you need to find a register for narration that's as comfortable as your handling of dialogue. Perhaps personifying "china_shop" as a character, if only in your head?

Two of my favorite things:

1. The fics you're choosing are "greatest hits of Due South short works," so you're curating the fandom as you record.

2. There's a joy in your voice that multiplies the generous fanfic impulse.

Thanks!
