comment on proposed restriction on protests in D.C.

Trump says protests shouldn't be allowed, and the National Park Service is proposing a rule that would eliminate protests from anywhere Trump might have to see them, including the National Mall.

You can comment on the proposed rule here: https://www.regulations.gov/document?D=NPS-2018-0007-0001

Comments must be received by end of day Monday, October 15, and must include the agency name (National Park Service) and RIN (1024-AE45) for this rulemaking.

My comment is:
(National Park Service) and RIN (1024-AE45)

The right of the people to peaceably assemble and petition government is so fundamental to the protection of America that American's Founders put it in the First Amendment to the Constitution. It should not be infringed by a President who doesn't care whether he is bad, only whether he looks bad. This proposed rule damages the cultural legacy that the Parks Department claims to be trying to protect. It damages the Constitution. It damages the rights of the American people.

Kinda weird that it's only Republicans that have to pass laws against giant protests.

I assume the "you" who can comment means "Americans".

Given your comments, this sounds blatantly unconstitutional. Has he replaced all the decision-makers at the NPS with cronies?

Oh your last sentence so succinctly captures the horror of these current days.

Imperial Presidency is a good phrase.

Oh, the courts! I suppose most of them are still working. Over here we mostly hear about the bad stuff. (Our courts work, unless you can't afford access. The government just ignores them on occasion.)
