"paid protestors"

It's funny how mad I get all over again when I remember Cory Gardner dissing me and everyone else who has been calling him as paid, out-of-state protestors. When Trump does it, I just think, he's delusional, that's what happens when you lie to yourself enough; but from Gardner it feels personal. The Left Hand of Darkness gave me a word for it: how dare you say I have no shifgrethor?

I hope he keeps saying it, and I hope lots of people respond like me: you want evidence that we live here, and we vote? CHALLENGE ACCEPTED.

Today's call: My name, where I live, "As the mother of a son with asthma, as a volunteer at the Rocky Mountain Raptor Center, and as a person who lives here on the Front Range and has seen enough brown clouds for one lifetime, I would like to know how Senator Gardner intends to vote on the repeal of the BLM's Methane and Natural Gas Waste Prevention Rule." Staffer said he did not think Senator Gardner had made a public statement, but he would be happy to pass along my concerns. "I would also like to know how Senator Gardner intends to vote on the repeal of the BLM's Planning 2.0 rule." Again, staffer did not think Gardner had made a public statement, but would be happy to pass along my concerns. Just to be sure, "I want him to vote NO on repealing both of those."

Gardner pisses me off, too. Friends of mine have been protesting at his office here (in a tiny rural area, where the hell does he think we are getting paid protesters?) as he refuses to take the stands that will protect our air and water. The methane rule in particular is crucial here because we are the famous methane hotspot - and a lot of that is coming from the other 4 corners states.

This is a thing that has me worried. They're acting like they think democracy is over. Do they know something we don't?

I dislike this ... entire damn concept.

I thought a lot of the stuff online during the Tea Party stuff in 2009 was astroturf, but I *always* thought the actual people were actually mad and actually showing up. Dammit.
