I watched Dune with some of my science fiction bookgroup tonight. It was amazing. Not in a good way, but now I find myself watching Twin Peaks.

I have book club envy. I love my book club ladies, but they mostly only like "chick lit" and that gets a bit old and a wee bit thin after a while. It'd be lovely to read some chewy SF and have some chewy discussion now and then. In fact, either of those things would be grand. *wistful*

Also: I love your tag for this post, and everything it implies. <3

I've been watching Twin Peaks with [personal profile] skola and it's really fascinatingly weird. And occasionally hilarious. It's also intriguing to see some of the things that inspired the X-Files, since I was a huge fan of that at one point.

I saw DUNE as it was meant to be seen: at the drive-in with popcorn, pot, and beer. We may have napped before the ending -- only outdoor movie without a double bill.
