I watched Dune with some of my science fiction bookgroup tonight. It was amazing. Not in a good way, but now I find myself watching Twin Peaks.

I saw DUNE as it was meant to be seen: at the drive-in with popcorn, pot, and beer. We may have napped before the ending -- only outdoor movie without a double bill.

It was fun to watch on a comfy couch with other fans, who mocked and laughed, and a dog. Dune is a go-to example of how plot and character are affected when the director can't bear to cut any of the special effects, because they were expensive!

That sounds awesome (ok, I've not yet tried pot, but I feel it would improve the Dune experience). I wish there were more drive-ins these days; I really enjoyed it the one time I went to one!
