five things

- Wildfire season started early this year, with high winds, low humidity, and 72 degrees in March.

+ This fire is boxed in by the area burnt by last year's fire to the north and west, and by Horsetooth Reservoir to the east.

+ I'm getting over this cold which has pulled my sleep schedule all to pieces and prevented me using my CPAP even when I did sleep.

- I have jury duty tomorrow. 8:15 a.m. is not a time that frequently finds me wearing pants.

- Mungo's backpack got stolen out of his friend's car. I think it contained the first season of Chuck and the first season of Breaking Bad, both of which I just checked out of the library for him.

Wow, that's a bunch of ouches!

We seem still to be on evac alert rather than mandatory evac, despite the wind, and of course that's cheering. Also that assuming our hjouse survives, it will be the safer for the summer....

I feel sure you've read Garth Nix. Yes?

ETA: Whoops! That first go was accidentally anonymous, though I bet it was clear who it was. And do so wish you well in scraping yourself up for jury duty tomorrow!

The only connection is that I'm reading Drowned Wednesday and thinking well of it. In fact, it reminds me of John Masefield, rather.

I am so stupid. The effect of two months of cold, I suppose. I hope the Masonville house wasn't/isn't in danger?

I went to FC yesterday to meet the window dude and-- going through FC and not Loveland both ways-- didn't see a trace of fire. To my surprise.

I actually like jury duty. I feel all civic and everything.

BOO on the fire. We heard about it on the radio while driving back from Utah. We had quite strong winds there and all we could think was how awful that must be for the fire. We're quite nervous about the approaching fire season down here, too.
