I do put her in her crate at night and when I leave the house, but she hates it, so I don't use it when I am at home and awake.

Yeah, our girl loathed her crate so much she took it apart.

As I'm sure you're aware, the key to keeping most dogs happy (and in particular, ACDs) is give them a job! Tire them out! It's a challenge.
