Gaming makes me anxious, but I do like to watch. Years ago, at an alt.poly con, I was watching a game -- I don't remember which game, but I think it was one of the ones where each player is trying to build a path from here to there -- when one of the players needed to leave, and asked if anyone would like to play his hand. No one volunteered. I said that I would give it a try. I lasted one turn, then said, "Okay, that was fun! Now I need to go, um, do something. Else. Does anyone want my place?" Everyone looked at me, like, seriously? Seriously?! But seriously, that was all the fun I could take.
