I watched Dune with some of my science fiction bookgroup tonight. It was amazing. Not in a good way, but now I find myself watching Twin Peaks.

I've been watching Twin Peaks with skola and it's really fascinatingly weird. And occasionally hilarious. It's also intriguing to see some of the things that inspired the X-Files, since I was a huge fan of that at one point.

I didn't watch TV for almost thirty years, so I missed a lot. Do you think I'd like the X-Files?

Hm... I really enjoyed the first several seasons, and many of those episodes hold up fairly well. It's usually less surreal than Twin Peaks, but there's some surreality and weirdness there too. And the characters are fun. It eventually went off the rails, as many shows that are on for a long time too, but there's a lot of good stuff there.
