[personal profile] boxofdelights show someone what makes this show so great?

My daughter doesn't watch much animated stuff and had never heard of Steven Universe, but was intrigued by my description of Amal El-Mohtar's Wiscon GoH speech. If you were to pick a few episodes from the first season to help someone decided whether this is the sort of thing she might like, and you were really hoping she would decide yes, which ones would you pick?

I would honestly just ask her to watch the first 5-6. That's what someone did for me and they're short and I loved them and became obsessed.

Lydy and I watched the first four episodes, I think. We failed to become hooked. I like the messages it's modeling, but it was too much of a kid's cartoon for our taste.

You might want to skip a season and try again - the show grows with the characters.

I liked the episode where Peridot binge watched a TV show. That made *me* love the show. (I can't remember the episode number, but it was early on. Also, reading more carefully now... I think this episode was in the second or third season, so...)

I would go beyond season 1 if possible. I like "Kiki's Pizza Delivery Service" and "Hit the Diamond" in S3.
